The purpose of Parkwood Baptist Church is to glorify God by laboring
together for the growth of all believers while going with the gospel to
all people(s).
Please pray the following:
Glorify
- Begin your time praying Psalm 63:1, “O God, You are my God; I shall seek
You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary
land where there is no water.” NASB
- On Sunday mornings and Wedpm adult worship, we will gather with hearts prepared to
worship the LORD God in spirit and in truth and as we lift up Christ, He will draw all
people unto Himself.
- Pray for Chad as he works with Pastor Jeff to plan and lead us into worship.
- Pray for the choir, worship team, and band as they work to join their hearts with
Chad's in leading us in worship on Sunday morning and Wednesday evening.
- Pray for each member and visitor that enters our campus each Sunday that everyone
will come with an open heart to worship the Father in spirit and in truth. Pray that
every life would never leave our services the same as when they came in.
Grow
- Ask the Lord to open the Word of the LORD to Pastor Jeff as he studies in preparation
for preaching. Ask for the Holy Spirit to empower and grow him.
- Pray for believers to be prepared to receive the Word of God as it is preached on Sunday
and Wednesday and to apply it in their lives.
- Pray for the lost to be convicted of their sins and that they will cry out to the LORD as
they hear the Word of God.
- As the Lord to make Ephesians 4:13 a reality among us, “until we all
attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to
the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.”
Growing Adults
- Pray for our ABS teachers as we study 1 and 2 Samuel. Pray the Holy Spirit
will reveal the amazing Truths of the Old Testament to His people so that we can apply them to
our daily lives.
- Pray our class members will reach out to those visiting Parkwood.
- Pray God will raise up new leaders and teachers for the future of the ministry here at Parkwood.
- Pray for our adults to grow and mature daily in their spiritual walk.
- Pray for our Fall 1:28 classes and the teachers as they teach Biblical Truths to the Parkwood
family on Sunday nights and Thursday mornings.
- Pray for our Home Groups as they meet together to build fellowship and grow together as they
reach their neighborhoods.
- Pray for believers to deal with discouragement and to not allow it to grow in their lives –
bring it to the Lord when it first appears.
- Pray the congregation will not be weary in well doing, trust the LORD that all be remembered at
the right time and place by Him.
Growing Students
- Pray for Dustin that he continues to lead obediently and with wisdom.
- For students during this transition time to remain committed to Student Ministry
and their walk with the Lord.
- For adult leaders to stand in the gap during this transition.
Growing Children (and parents)
- Parents would stand firm on Deuteronomy 6:5-7, "You shall love the Lord
your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might, . . . You
shall teach [these words] diligently to your children . . ."
- Children would seek opportunities to share their faith with friends in their schools
and neighborhoods.
- God would gift the many new teachers in the ministry with the desire to see the children
grow in the knowledge of the Lord.
- God would cause parents to pray that the Lord would use their children as His instruments
to reach a lost and dying world.
Growing by Caring
- God would guide us in new ways to minister to the poor and needy of our community.
- God would bless those who faithfully visit hospitals, shut-ins and those in prison.
- God will draw those hurting and in need to Celebrate Recovery and that lives will be changed.
- Ask the Lord to raise up servant leaders among us.
- Ask the Lord to lead us in the selection of our new Deacons.
- Pray for the Deacon Hospital visitation teams as they fulfill their important ministry.
- Pray for the Deacon Homebound ministry as the deacons continue to be faithful to their task.
- Pray for Caring Hearts (Widow and Widowers Support Group) as they seek to visit our homebound.
Growing by Giving
- We would continue to live out 2 Corinthians 9:7,“ Each [person] should give what he
has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful
giver.”
- We would support generously the building project “for the little ones” so that we
could minister more effectively to the families of preschoolers and children.
- We would sacrifice for the sake of the Kingdom of God.
- We would commit to being good stewards with everything God has blessed us.
Go
- Dibo People of Nigeria - Pray the Dibo leadership will continue to view us
and our work among them in a favorable light. Pray God will lead us to specific villages to spend
significant time sharing the Gospel and working with the leaders and people of those villages.
Pray for the partnerships that we are developing with Pastor Barnabas and Pastor Isaac. Pray this
partnership will lead to a great harvest among the Dibo. Pray also for the members of each of these
churches, as they are trained, to go out and share the Gospel.
- Lance and Lisa - Lance and Lisa are in a tough time and are not sure what the
Lord is doing. Lance will travel in Bahrain to see if God might provide a necessary job for them to
move there. He has been accepted to a university there but they need a job visa to be able to live
there as a family. They want to be in the region to be part of living a life of witness, but they are
not sure of the location right now. It is a time of uncertainty…which many of us can identify
with as well!
- Ron and Charlotte Craig, Romania serving with the Turks- Pray for the follow up
after the September medical team’s ministry in the villages of Harsova and Cobdin. Continue to
pray for the water project in Valeni, pray for the mayor as he makes decisions about this project.
Pray for them that they will finish strong serving on the field.
- Scott and Christine – Pray as they begin to serve in the field. What a
great challenge they have before them to serve among a new people and learn their language and culture.
- Billy and Mary Collins, Honduras – Please keep Honduras in your prayers.
They have had more rain than usual, flooding in areas that have never flooded in the past, more
landslides, water systems washed away.
- Tom and Michele Gore, Granite Baptist Church, Milford NH – Praise for
the great Outreach that took place in their community during the Great Pumpkin Festival.“ When
you 'Go' and show people how much you care, they will listen to what you are commanded to 'Tell'.
Don't just go to church--Be the Church!”
- Dennis and Cindy Conner, Crosspointe the Church at Tartesso, AZ. – Pray for
the community of Tartesso. The down turn in the economy has had a drastic affect on this area. Pray for
the 100+ families who have lost jobs. Pray for the school that it will not be closed. Pray that, in this
most difficult of times, they will be faithful to minister to all the folks of Tartesso.
- Disaster Relief Team – Pray for those who will be going to Texas on November
15-22 to serve in the recovery after Hurricane Ike. Pray for safety for all the teams serving. Pray for
additional people to GO and serve.
Church Planting
- Church of the Carolinas – We would clearly discern God's will
concerning current options for a gathering spot.
The Spirit would be powerfully present in our times of corporate worship granting us conviction,
repentance, cleansing, enlightenment and joy that results in us having hearts full of praise - just
as He wills. Pray the Father would provide us with a "spirit and truth" worship leader.
Thank God for all of the blessings that we cannot see!
- Exodus Church – Interest Lunch - Nov 2 - Pray that the vision of our church
would be clearly communicated and fervently embraced by many who attend. Pray for Brian as he follows
up with those who show interest. Facility -- Pray that God would provide a facility
in our target area. Financial Support – Currently, we have raised approximately
80% of our goal. Please continue to pray that God would provide other individuals and churches to partner
with us in this endeavor. If you would like to receive regular prayer updates, please email -
