T & T
Truth and Training
Children
in Grades 3, 4, or 5 will be participating in our AWANA T & T Clubs. Each
child entering AWANA for the first time will complete a Start Zone
entrance booklet to become an official member of the club. The entrance
booklet is free.
After completing the entrance booklet, the clubber and is eligible to purchase Book One ($7) and a club
T-shirt ($11). If a clubber has already completed Book One, he/she
would begin Book Two. Scholarships and payment plans are available. Please
contact Kent Lachney, Commander/Children’s Pastor, if you need assistance.
Every club meeting begins in your child’s classroom at 6:15. T & T is
divided into three parts: Handbook Time, Game Time, and Council Time.
- Handbook time - This is a 35 minute segment when leaders guide
clubbers in their achievements. Emphasis is placed on helping clubbers
achieve in Bible memory and learning applications. Clubbers are
encouraged to work on their handbooks at home and come prepared to
recite verses. This is an excellent time for parents to spend time with
their children as they learn and apply God’s Word. Clubbers may need to
be reminded during the week to work on their handbooks.
- Game time - This is a fun and exciting time for the clubbers. It is
a 25 minute segment where clubbers play games on the AWANA Game Square.
Good gripping tennis shoes are required safety. Clubbers
learn good sportsmanship, exercise, and encouragement to excel.
- Council time - This is a 25 minute segment featuring a Bible
message, missionary speakers, announcements, award presentations, and testimonies. It is a
time that leaders can review some of the Scriptural lessons that
clubbers are learning and expand their interest in missions.
- Club ($.50) and Adopt-a-Club ($.10) dues are collected weekly at
each club meeting. Club dues are used to offset part of the cost of
administering the T & T clubs. Adopt-a-Club dues support AWANA Clubs in
Romania and Haiti. We believe it is important that each clubber
participates in mission projects that help fulfill the Great Commission
(Matthew 28: 19 - 20). When clubbers contribute to Adopt-a-Club for 20
weeks out of the club year, they earn an Adopt-A-Club award.
- Bible Quiz is scheduled in the early Spring. It is a
competition among clubbers, parents, and leaders on Bible verses and
other information learned in the AWANA handbooks. AWANA Games
is an annual sporting event among our AWANA clubbers at the Lew Van
Dyke Memorial Grand Prix. Clubbers build racing cars and compete
with one another. Parents and friends are encouraged to attend these
events.
- The AWANA Store is another exciting part of our T & T Clubs.
AWANA shares are awarded to clubbers for various achievements. As
clubbers accumulate shares, they can redeem them at the AWANA Store.
Please refer to the AWANA calendar for store nights.
- AWANA Theme Nights are special nights that children are
encouraged to participate in and have fun. Theme nights are listed on
the AWANA calendar and AWANA newsletter.
