AWANA

Awana is an international, nondenominational, Bible-centered children organization providing weekday clubs and programs for three-year-olds through fifth grade. The acrostic AWANA comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Tim. 2:15). AWANA meets during the school year on Wednesday evenings from 6:15 - 7:40 p.m.

A kid's ministry without fun is a ministry without kids. That's why Awana takes fun "seriously". Our club meetings are so exciting that kids can't wait to come back for more.

But fun is only the start. While kids are having a blast, they're learning and growing too. They participate in games and activities that train their bodies. They learn verses and spiritual truths that expand their minds. They encounter life lessons that feed their souls.

Scripture memory is at the heart of the AWANA program. Each week club members are required to memorize portions of Scripture as part of their handbook work. This memory work is to be completed at home with parental assistance. There is even an area in each section where a parent must sign in order for the club member to get credit for the work completed.

Awana teaches children that God is real, He loves them and He has expressed that love through His Son, Jesus Christ. Kids also learn how God can help them in their daily lives. Bible-based lessons teach them how to obey God in a complex world.

With caring, trained leaders investing time, love and wisdom into shaping children's lives, parents quickly discover that Awana is a fun approach to a serious calling.
