The purpose of the XYZ Club is to:
- To provide the opportunity for senior citizens to participate in
wholesome recreation and activities.
- To encourage fellowship among senior citizens.
- To provide an outlet for the skills, knowledge, and interest of
senior citizens.
- To promote the incentive of senior citizens to participate in group
activities.
- To provide opportunity and encouragement for participation in church
activities and projects of special interest to seniors.
Membership
A member must be fifty (55) years or older. You do not need to be a
member of Parkwood Baptist Church to either attend or be a member of our
Club. All members pay membership dues in the amount of $12 per year (or
prorated at $1 per month if a person joins after the cut-off of October
of each year). All first time visitors will be provided a complimentary
meal as our Way of saying “Thank you for coming and we hope you enjoy your
time with us'. This gives the visitor an opportunity to decide if they
would like to become a member of our Club.
Meeting Date and Place
The meetings of this Club shall be at the Parkwood Baptist Church
Fellowship Hall on the 4th Monday of each month at 6:00 PM. The meeting
consists of a meal ($4.00 per person), devotion time, monthly program and
business meeting and usually lasts no longer than two hours. There is no
meeting in November and the December Meeting is usually held the first
Monday of December. There is usually a special holiday program in
December.
Miscellaneous Information
The Club elects officers each October from our membership. Members are
assigned to a group so they will receive a call regarding the upcoming
meeting and/or other information.
Our Trip Committee will sponsor several day trips or activities during
the year.
