Total Projected Cost for Phase 1: $1.66 million Motion #2The Property Utilization Team, Pastoral Staff and Deacons make the motion that Parkwood Baptist Church, without acquiring debt, adopt the phased Master’s Plan as the guide for future building and property development to replace the Master Site Plan adopted in May 2004. The Student Ministry BuildingThe Student Ministry Building would provide a large amount of space for our church to utilize for the continued ministry to students in and through this church. All Student Ministries would take place in the Student Ministry Building. Students would have a place to call their own. The Student Ministry Building will provide a place for students to identify with our ministry.
The Student Ministry Building would also provide a platform for our student ministry to reach out to our community in ways that have never been possible. The large fellowship space and entry provides a place for students and adults to connect and build relationships that are intentional for the sake of the gospel. After School Open Hours will give students a place to go and a front door to our ministry for students who are not involved. Friday Night Open Hours will provide a place for students to go to enjoy one another. Open Hours before and after our primary ministry times will give students another reason to bring their friends. The possibilities are endless as we look at what God could do through this facility. Student Ministry Building Images The Parking LotThe motion from the Property Utilization Team, the Pastoral Staff and Deacons also includes building a Parking Lot adjacent to Buildings C and D. This area is currently being used to park cars on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. The proposed Parking Lot would include the following:
A parking lot is not the most glamorous thing you could imagine and does not sound very spiritual. However, if people are unable to park here, they cannot worship here. In this sense, parking becomes a glory of God issue. The addition of more parking allows us to uphold our purpose in the lives of more people here at Parkwood Baptist Church. |
