Biography
I grew up as the son of a career military soldier. My parents were from
the Gastonia area, so we returned here in my high school years. After high
school, I went to NCSU in Raleigh and upon graduation served in the U.S.
Army. My wife Pat and I married while in college.
After a tour in Vietnam in the infantry, Pat and I both came to faith
about two years after my return home. We have one daughter Lori. She and
Bobby Simmons were married in 1990 and we have five precious
grandchildren. Kristen (born 1992), Dillon (born 1994), Luke (born 1997), Cassie (born 2000),
and Zachary (born 2003). God has truly blessed our family in many ways.
We came to Parkwood in 2003. God called me into the ministry as Pastor
of Pastoral Care in 2005. This was a transition for us, coming from the
business world. We are so thankful to be part of this church family. You
have loved us and encouraged us as we serve the Lord together.
Let your conversation be without covetousness: and be content with such
things as you have: for he has said, I will never leave thee nor forsake
thee.
