The Purpose of Parkwood Baptist Church

The purpose of Parkwood Baptist Church is to glorify God by laboring together for the growth of all believers while going with the gospel to all people(s).

  • Glorify

  • Grow

    • Colossians 1:28-29 "We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me." NASB

    • Matthew 28:18-20 "...Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations..." NASB
       
    • Acts 1:8 "but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." NASB

    • We are a community of believers who are seeking to grow in the Lord Jesus Christ.
       

  • What do we do?

    • We focus the majority of our ministry on the growth of believers so that we will all see the need to take the gospel to those who have not yet believed.
       

  • How do we function?

    • We proclaim the Word of God to one another by teaching and admonishing. We make disciples by sharing the gospel of Christ with a lost world. We support the cause of missions by sending missionaries and going as God leads.
       

  • Where do we minister?

    • Jerusalem - Gaston County, Judea - North Carolina, Samaria - United States of America, Remotest parts of the earth - Honduras, Romania, China, etc.
       

  • When do we minister?

    • Daily! Proclaim and Go are present tense verbs. We are to be about the work of the Kingdom of God moment by moment and day by day.
       

  • Why do we do what we do?

    • For the glory of God!
